This project includes the addition of 33,000 sq.ft. of new space as well as the renovation of 10,000 sq. ft. of existing space. The modernization includes a state of the art Culinary Studio accompanied with a Full Service Restaurant for students. Renovations are also being completed on a Testing/Tutoring Lab and modernization to multiple classrooms. The new work includes a 2-story Black Box Theatre with all supporting spaces including, Practice Rooms, Ensemble Room, Recording Studio and Sound Booth, Keyboard Lab, Wardrobe, Dressing, Control, Audio Room, Multi-purpose Room, Student Lounge, 8 Classrooms, a full Fitness Center and general support spaces. The theatre has a specialized stage lighting system, a high performance sound system and all the necessary provisions to support live broadcasts of events. The entire facility and associated power requirements are backed up by a standby emergency generator. All designs are code compliant and approved by DCA.
