The facility is a new, two-story, free-standing 65,000 square foot outpatient clinic that consists of several functional areas; Primary Care Area, EEG Laboratory, Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Specialty Care, Urgent Care, Surgical Suites, Recovery, Cardiology, Audiology, Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, Orthopedics, SPD, Pharmacy, Dental Clinic, Psychiatry, Substance Abuse, Physical Therapy, Eye Clinic, OBGYN Clinic, Prosthetics, Warehouse and Administration Support areas. The deliverables included load calculations, single-line floor plans, layout of major equipment rooms, riser diagrams, system narratives, outline specifications, major equipment schedules and catalog cuts, as well as vertical and horizontal race ways for ductwork, piping, and conduits.
Arris also performed detailed life cycle energy analysis, as required by the VA design guidelines. The systems designed were HVAC, Normal Power, Emergency Power, Lighting, Fire Alarm, Security/Data/Telephone (Conduit System Only), Nurse Call, Sanitary & Vent, Domestic Water, Storm Water, Medical Gases (Oxygen, Nitrogen, Nitrous Oxide, Medical Air, Vacuum). The building engineering system design emphasizes life safety, energy efficiency, occupant comfort, reliability, functionality, and indoor air quality, while meeting the design intent of the project.
